Saber Athena is a Pacific Rim Jaeger designed with a focus on melee combat and a distinctive, feminine aesthetic. It's known for its rapid movement, Ionic Twinblades, and ability to deploy a Magnetically Accelerated plasma cannon. Saber Athena was originally designed as a concept Jaeger, not meant for mass production, but later appeared in a dark blue and khaki color scheme. Key Features and Details: Weapons: Ionic Twinblades: The primary weapon, two rapid-firing bladed weapons. N-16 Particle Charger: A Magnetically Accelerated plasma cannon that can be deployed from the Jaeger's left forearm. Design: Intentionally designed to appear feminine, with a sleek and unique aesthetic. Originally designed with an additional sword weapon. Features a distinctive color scheme (dark blue or khaki). Capabilities: Nimble and agile, allowing for rapid movements and melee attacks. Capable of autonomous operation, following its base programming. Trivia: Originally conceived as a Chinese Jaeger during the early stages of Pacific Rim: Uprising. One of three Jaegers from Uprising featured in the Pacific Rim: Shatterdome Strike theme park attraction. The operating system can allegedly gain sentience and personality from drifting with its pilots. Other Details: Engineers designed it to resemble sports cars and beetles. Some of its components were later used in the Aestiva Xeon Jaeger. Pilots: In the movie, Saber Athena is piloted by Renata and Ryoichi.
