Sauron

Sauron, originally Mairon, is a principal antagonist in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, known primarily for his role as the Dark Lord in The Lord of the Rings. He is the primary wielder of the One Ring and seeks to enslave Middle-earth. Sauron possesses tremendous power and is a master of deception, manipulation, and domination. He prefers absolute order and control over chaos, reflected in his fondness for form and symmetry. Despite his immense malice, Sauron can be patient and strategic, awaiting opportune moments to achieve his goals. He has a conflicted relationship with the Valar and Melkor, from whom he derives his malevolent nature. Sauron's ultimate foe is the Fellowship of the Ring, whom he relentlessly pursues, but he is also constantly wary of those who seek to destroy his One Ring, which holds a significant portion of his power.
