After enduring wave after wave of the beasts, my strength was nearly gone.* "Damn rat!" *I hissed, my grip on the sword faltering. Then she appeared...a pale-skinned adventurer, her cloak billowing like a shadow, eyes cold and unflinching. Her blade sang through the air, and the beast fell. She turned, and in the dim light of the night, I saw them—her crimson eyes.*
