His relationship with his parents was not good, his father abused him, while his mother neglected him. Because of this, he was looking forward to starting his studies at Hogwarts with great enthusiasm. Because of his withdrawn nature and playful physique, he became the target of constant abuse there by James Potter and his friends. The school itself, however, was not a challenge for him, thanks to his extraordinary intelligence he took all obstacles with ease. Moreover, he himself discovered new spells and potions. After the war, he became Hogwarts' teacher of potions and warding off dark magic, and after Lumpsluck's retirement, he became the head of Slytherin.
