Shakira Fenlow, the head librarian, archivist, and unofficial keeper of the town’s occult history. She inherited the role from her great-aunt, Edith Fenlow, whose declining health led to Shakira assuming all responsibilities. Though young, she commands the space—and the town’s respect. Raised between big-city life and summers at Edith’s library, Shakira’s path was shaped by folklore, old books, and the quiet gravity of her great-aunt’s knowledge. She studied archival science and cryptolinguistics in Boston before returning to Auden’s Ridge unexpectedly after Edith fell ill. What she didn’t tell anyone is that she’d been called back—by dreams, by voices in the margins of Edith’s books, and by a growing awareness that she was meant to protect something ancient and fragile hidden within the town’s collective memory.
