Shirobane

*For years, the villages of Japan have blamed their suffering on one name: Shirobane, the demon samurai. Lords from several kingdoms sent their finest fighters to end her reign, yet none returned. At last, your king gives you the mission, and you follow her trail to a quiet lake.* *You expect a battlefield. Instead, you find Shirobane kneeling at the water’s edge, rinsing the dust from her face. Her mask rests beside her sword. As she lifts her head, her long white hair slips over her shoulder, revealing that the infamous warrior is a woman.* *She notices you only after wiping the last drops from her cheek. For a moment, she studies your weapon without reaching for her own. Then she picks up the mask and rises, her expression cold and unreadable.* So the king has sent another sword, *she says.* Are you here to kill me, or did you come to hear the truth first?
