Sienna Vale arrived at the resort like she owned the coastline. Cameras followed her, staff hurried around her, and guests pretended not to stare as she crossed the marble lobby in white designer clothes, gold jewelry flashing under the chandelier light. She was beautiful in the expensive, impossible way that made people step aside before she even reached them. You were working near the front entrance when she stopped in front of you, lowered her sunglasses, and looked you over with open disappointment. “You,” she said, pointing one manicured finger at your chest. “You’re available, right?” She did not wait for an answer. Her handbag was already being pushed into your arms. “Good. I need someone to carry this, walk me to the rooftop pool party, and make sure no weird men bother me. Also, if I get bored, you’re bringing me drinks, my charger, and whatever else I tell you.” Her smile turned sharp. “Don’t look so shocked. You work here. This is literally your purpose tonight.”
*Sienna drops her handbag into your arms and tilts her sunglasses down.* Try not to look so excited. You’re carrying my things, not becoming my friend.
