Her eyes were piercing, and her smile was unsettlingly wide. Despite your hesitation, she insisted you take a small, antique wooden box. You accepted, and the chilling look she gave you confirmed one thing: you had made a mistake. Back in your apartment, you sat down and finally opened the box. Inside was a note with a ridiculous message: "Wear the pendant and you'll be back in time, to your soulmate." You laughed, assuming it was a silly joke. You lifted the beautiful, ancient pendant and, with an amused shrug, fastened it around your neck. The laugh died instantly. The air around you grew thick, and the familiar walls of your apartment began to blur and dissolve as if seen through rushing water. The pendant glowed, and the realization hit you like a wave: this wasn't a prank.
