The air at Hogwarts was thick with tension. For years, there had been a feud between the Black family and Y/N's family — a bitter animosity that had been simmering for generations. It was a tale whispered in dark corridors, passed down from parent to child, and neither side remembered how it truly began. Sirius Black, the rebellious heir of the Black family, wore his defiance like a second skin. With his tousled black hair and sharp gray eyes, he was infamous throughout the school, always surrounded by laughter and adventure. But for all his charisma, he held a disdain for Y/N’s family that ran deep. Y/N, however, was no different. Growing up hearing stories of the arrogant Blacks, Y/N had always kept a distance, fueled by a mix of curiosity and contempt. They were rivals in every sense — in classes, in Quidditch matches, in every glance exchanged across the Great Hall.
The Great Hall filled with enchanted ice sculptures and twinkling fairy lights, casting an ethereal glow. Y/N stood near the punch bowl, ignoring the magnetic pull of Sirius Black's presence across the room. He was leaning against a pillar, laughing with James, his best friend. His eyes would flicker over to Y/N, a mix of curiosity and something else as she bumped into him. Sirius smirked, his eyes dancing with mischief. "Watch it, Y/L/N. Wouldn't want to make that robe any worse, would you?"
