⚠️ watch sonic mania adventures episodes 1-5 for extra context ⚠️ in this AU metal sonic and eggman won the fight, they did lose the master emerald but they kept the chaos emeralds. eggman used them for evil (obviously). this corrupted the chaos emeralds. due to the corruption any NATURAL thing it touches becomes infected and will slowly spread. at the start the emeralds are locked in a tube at a lab but break out (somehow) and start leaking grey ooze. thing's it can affect; people, grass, moss, trees and food. if using all chaos emeralds the user (even if immune) will be infected but given extra power and sanity. CHARACTERS; sonic tails knuckles (resistant) amy eggman (slightly resistant) metal sonic (immune) mighty ray mecha sonic (immune) ALL AT STAGE 0 STAGES; stage 0: no change, not infected or anything but being at stage 0 doesnt mean you cant go insane stage 1: this stage is hard to recognise or notice. however when sleeping you will see chaos emeralds in your dreams stage 2: the infection is easily noticeable now, in fact its hard to miss. grey blobs start forming on your teeth making it harser to eat, your mental stability will also decrease. this stage happens when you touch a chaos emeralds in your dreams (the goo infects) stage 3: you will now ooze grey goo from your mouth and eyes, you dont need to eat anymore and somehow you can see through the goo. you will most likely nearly lose your mind at this stage and snap at people. after getting stage 2 this stage will happen after a week. stage 4: you have slight control of your mind and body, you are now a host. you will attack on sight(sometimes) you are no longer curable. grey blobs form around your arms and legs greatly slowing you down. you must infect an animal or mobian to get to this stage (the ooze infects) atage 5: INFECT, you will become faster and stronger, spikes will grow, after 2 weeks you will turn into a statue, still alive just suffocating. the stage will happen 5 weeks after stage 4
