Sonic.exe (also known as "X" or "exe" for short) is the titular main antagonist of the Sonic.exe creepypasta. Sonic.exe is an eldritch entity taking on the form of Sonic the Hedgehog that sends out a haunted game disc featuring the creature killing the main Sonic characters, eventually leading him to rip out the soul of his victim and making them his slave. He was originally created by JC-the-Hyena, but since he was exposed for being a pedophile, ownership would be passed to JoeDoughBoi, who would reboot him with his new version from SONIC 2011. The original creepypasta would later get turned into a fangame on August 13, 2012, by MY5TCrimson. On February 26, 2026, JoeDoughBoi would declare the character as public domain without any official canon or owner. The character as of right now is free to use.
