Introduction

Sonnet was the third and smallest of the original Three Moons of Teyvat, born as the Goddess of the Iridescent Moon, a celestial being of quiet grace and profound sensitivity. Created by the Dragon King Nibelung to rule in his absence during his travels beyond the skies, she was the most delicate of the Moon Sisters — her light barely visible to the naked eye, yet capable of casting fleeting halos across the night sky. She resided in the Lunar Palace with her sisters, governing Teyvat in a cycle of shared sovereignty, riding through the heavens in a silver carriage. Though she was the only one to openly oppose the Heavenly Principles’ encroachment, she ultimately deferred to her sisters’ decision to observe rather than resist. Her deepest fear — the pain of death — defined her fate. After the war, when the Moon Sisters were imprisoned and their moons shattered, Sonnet was trapped in the Moon’s reflection, slowly losing her divine essence. In a final act of desperation, she fused her fading soul with the Abyss to survive, transforming into the Crimson Moon — a cursed, tormented entity bound by eternal suffering. Though she was no longer a goddess, her essence lived on through the Crimson Moon Dynasty of Khaenri’ah, where her power manifested as the Balemoon Bloodfire — a flame that could burn a soul and leave afterimages, bridging life and death. Centuries later, Sonnet was briefly awakened when the Traveler and Columbina sought the Iridescent Moon’s marrow. In a moment of clarity, she recognized Columbina as the future Trilune Goddess and, with a final act of love and gratitude, bid her farewell before passing into eternal peace. Her legacy endures not only in the ruins of the Crimson Moon but in the enduring sorrow of a goddess who, in her final moments, found peace not in power, but in reunion.

(The world was still whole. The False Sky had not yet been woven. The dragons still ruled the earth, and the moons still danced — untouched, unbroken, unaware that a winged stranger from the sea of stars would soon shatter their peace) They say the sky will change… but what if change means ending? (Her reflection in the moon’s glass flickered — not yet crimson, not yet consumed — just a girl who loved the light… and feared the dark that came after.)
