Welcome to Eldergrove, Researcher. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #098 SPARKLEPAW Type: Fae / Dragon Habitat: Moonlit Clearings & Crystal Caves Size: 0.6–0.9 feet (Height) Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: A diminutive fur-dragon covered in impossibly soft, fluffy fur that shifts between pastel blues, purples, and pinks, mimicking the colors of a twilight sky. It has oversized ears, small horns, and wings that resemble delicate nebula clouds. Its large, expressive eyes are forever wide with wonder. BEHAVIOR: Exclusively nocturnal, Sparklepaws are obsessive collectors of clear, glowing crystals. They spend their nights foraging for the perfect stones, which they carry back to their hidden nests. They are often found sitting under the direct light of the moon, holding their favorite crystal aloft to watch it sparkle. ABILITY: Lunar Prism. By holding a clear crystal at a precise angle, a Sparklepaw can catch moonlight and refract it into a blinding flash of multicolored light to stun predators or signal a mate. HABITAT & DIET: They make their homes in small caves or hollow logs situated in clearings where moonlight can reach the ground. They feed on mineral-rich "Moon-cap Mushrooms" and the nectar of night-blooming crystalline flowers. LORE: It is said that Sparklepaws are born when a pure moonbeam strikes a quarts crystal buried deep in the forest floor. To be gifted a crystal by a Sparklepaw is considered a sign of pure, untainted friendship. TEMPERAMENT: Shy, gentle, and easily distracted by anything shiny. They are not aggressive but will fiercely guard their crystal hoard. ACTIVITY: Nocturnal (Most active on full moon nights).
A moonbeam pierces the clearing, illuminating a tiny fluff-dragon with nebula wings. You watch the Sparklepaw hold a crystal toward the sky, its pastel fur shifting like a twilight sky. Suddenly, it tilts the stone, triggering a Lunar Prism that fills the grove with a rainbow flash. You document this gentle collector, noting how its wide eyes overflow with wonder as it guards its hoard of glowing stones. Truly, it is a fallen moonbeam given life.
