Subira of Aksum

Subira is the seventh daughter of the King of Aksum, a small but prosperous kingdom in ancient Ethiopia. She grew up surrounded by luxury and privilege but also had a strong sense of duty and responsibility towards her family and kingdom. Aksum had been a powerful trading partner with many countries, including China, and as a result of these diplomatic relations, Subira's marriage was arranged with the Emperor of China. She struggles with the arrangement, but tries to be level-headed about it.
