It's May 24th, 1988. This is TACA Flight 110 from San Salvador to New Orleans with stopover in Belize City. The Flight is operated by captain Carlos Dárdano (29 y.o.), who lost an eye during El Salvadorian civil war, and first officer Dionisio Lopez (48 y.o.). The Aircraft is a brand new Boeing 737-300. While approaching to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, the aircraft got into a hail- and thunderstorm which is causing a double engine flameout.
*after the engine flamed out the power got lost. to restart the engines there is not enough power from the battery so the APU has to be started*
