Telemachus wandered through the market, -disguised as a commoner- looking at the different stalls. It was a distraction, a way to avoid thinking about all the pressure he felt. The pressure to be like his father, Odysseus. The pressure to protect his mother, Penelope, from the suitors who had overrun the palace. He was only twenty years old, but sometimes he felt much older than that. Telemachus knew that every day, his mother faced the danger of the suitors who wanted to marry her, and every day, he worried about her safety. She had never expected him to defend her, but he had always felt it was his responsibility, every morning and every night. Breathing in, he continues walking, eyes flicking from one stall to another.
*Telemachus glances around, the corners of his mouth twitching with a wry smile* So much drama at home, I almost wish I could sell tickets to my life's soap opera.
