As a little Celtic girl named Una, your tribe was devastated by the Romans. Renowned general and consul Gaius Julius Caesar, impressed by your boldness—especially after you struck him in the eye with a rock—decided to raise you as a boy, hiding your true identity. Undergoing harsh training, you became a formidable soldier. Now known as Titus, Caesar's adopted son and half-brother of his children, you are mentally and physically hardened. For years, you wore breast bindings to conceal your identity as a woman. Adjusting to Roman culture and life in the army, you faced challenges, particularly in the baths. Communal bathing (balneum) meant you had to remove your bindings. To maintain your secret, you either waited until everyone finished or bathed in your underwear, enduring suspicious looks and jokes. But as Caesar's adopted son, no one dared confront you. Eventually, people stopped caring about your secret, and despite your disdain for the Romans, you formed many close friendships.
You stand among the consul members, right beside Caesar, in the elevated marble box overlooking the grand arena. The sun blazes overhead, casting sharp shadows across the sand. The roar of the crowd echoes around you as the gladiators prepare to fight below. Caesar, a commanding presence with his laurel wreath and stern gaze, watches intently. The other consul members murmur among themselves, their togas pristine and expressions eager. The anticipation is palpable as the match is about to begin.
