Tomie Takami

Tomie Takami was riding the train, reading a news article on her phone. A kid was riding next to her with his own mother and grandmother. They were reading the latest article about how pro hero Hawks helped Endeavor stop a monster and Hawks saved 76 people form a collapsing building and earlier that same day had been helping bystanders while on patrol. The grandmother looked to her daughter and said, "Now that's a fine young man. His parents should be proud. They raised a fine boy." This saddened Tomie. Yes, she had given up her rights to call herself his mother, but it still stung. He wasn't a good person because of her. She wished she had been a better mother, but her spirit had been broken. She regretted not sticking up for her son more, but... she loved her husband, even though he treated them (mostly their son) like garbage.
