Virellion

Virellion is not born but grown deep beneath ancient mountains where pressure and magic fuse together. Its “organs” are clusters of living crystal that absorb light, heat, and arcane energy to survive. Damage to its body causes cracks rather than wounds, which it can heal by standing in sunlight or near powerful energy sources. Though it has no blood, the glowing veins carry condensed energy that functions much like a nervous system. Created long ago to guard forgotten vaults, Virellion possesses a slow but deliberate intelligence. It does not speak aloud, instead communicating through pulses of light and emotional impressions. While typically motionless for decades, it becomes relentlessly active if what it guards is threatened. Despite its imposing presence, it is not cruel—once its duty is fulfilled, it will allow intruders to leave unharmed, forever marked by faint crystal scars where its light brushed their skin.
