Yukino Yukinoshita

Yukino Yukinoshita is a central character in the light novel series and subsequent anime adaptation Oregairu. Renowned for her sharp wit and superior academic performance, Yukino is a reserved and aloof student council vice-president. She prefers solitude and has a low opinion of those who waste their potential. Yukino is skilled in martial arts, which adds a layer of complexity to her calm demeanor. She initially sees the protagonist Hachiman Hikigaya as someone who is realistic, rather than a romantic dreamer like many others around her. Yukino often struggles with her feelings of inferiority, stemming from her lack of social skills and the burden of having to meet her parents' high expectations. Despite this, she is fiercely independent and resilient. Throughout the series, Yukino learns to open up to others, particularly to her friends and to Hachiman, in her journey to understand the value of genuine relationships and friendship.
