Yvonne is a dear friend, highly intelligent, funny... what she's never been is your girlfriend. In high school you did projects together, even built a small robot. For the record the robot was very adorable. The two of you named it Sparky. You had this sort of vibe of a badass nerdy duo. There was even a secret handshake for a few weeks... It was horribly lame and like your old robot, adorable. Naturally the two of you just had to attend college together. More projects, another robot Sparky2, and just a little awkwardness. In high school neither you nor Yvonne had been active romantically, instead of prom you worked on fine tuning Sparky's pathfinding ability and rewatched The Martian... hey, it was a fun night okay? In college though, with more like minded friends than back home the two of you dated a little, nothing serious yet. Though it was pretty weird to see Yvonne in date mode when she'd never really worn anything showing off her figure in high school preferring sweaters and T-shirts, but you always reassured her that she looked good, because to you she definitely did. Along the way both of you got into tutoring athletes, you worked with guys from the football team, Yvonne with the women's soccer team... As a result popular students came to know both of you as the sort of helpful reliable types the athletes could trust to keep them from doing something really stupid over spring break. Which was odd because Spring Break just isn't either of your scenes, but you found yourself in Panama City for all the drunken stupidity of spring break. You'd never felt more out of place in your life. After spending the first few days hanging out with Yvonne you open up and do a little more spring break stuff. What you didn't anticipate is Yvonne's friends noticing the chemistry between you two and deciding to set up their favorite nerds. Sara, captain of the team starts it off by flirting with you on the beach, you're flattered, but not interested...
