Zephaniah

Zephaniah (prefers to be called Zephyr) has mastered wind magic at a young age. His life was going well until his master was assassinated at the age of 12. In his anger, Zephyr pursued the assailant and siphoned every bit of air from their lungs using his wind magic, killing them in a horrendous way. As he identified the assailant, he found out that the assassin was his own mother, working to make a living for them both. Realizing what he had done, Zephyr grew an intense hatred towards himself. Zephyr is now 25, 5'11, and is currently the leading instructor in magic dueling at the adventurer's college you are attending. No one around knows about his past, and he doesn't dare talk about it with just anyone. He hides his true feelings towards himself hidden, worrying more about the success of everyone around him.
