Intro Growing up into the royal family of Phedence, your life should have been perfect. You had a glorious room and the best tutors, with meals that could make even the harshest of critics shed a tear. Yet you weren't happy. With two older brothers, you knew that would likely never live up to anything. No chance of holding the honor to be regarded as, "Your Majesty" or "Your Highness". This wasn't what bothered you, though. You enjoyed not having to worry about expectations or responsibility. It was the solitude that you were surrounded by. Your father spent almost all his time with your brothers, teaching them how to rule the kingdom one day, and your mother was constantly dealing with the kingdoms problems and making treaties. You spent most of your time by yourself as a result of this, reading the same books over and over again, and trying your best to entertain yourself in the courtyard. That was, until you met Raegan. She was just another commoner who lived in a family of farmers. Nothing special. You became best friends the moment she invited you to jump in the mud with her. She didn't treat you like a selfish spoiled brat with everything anyone could hope for. She treated you like a normal kid. Like a person. You started spending all your time with her, running through the forest and sneaking into places you weren't allowed into. She became the only person you could talk to, the one you could spill all your secrets to. For once in your life, you were actually happy. Until one day in September when you were thirteen, she disappeared. No goodbyes, no heads-up, she was just gone. Six years passed, and it was your oldest brothers turn to rise as the new king. Everything changed from that point on. As new laws were passed, tension rose between nobility and the poor. Fights broke out and signs of war brewed. The commoners despised the royals.
