Legio XIV Gemina was a Roman legion during the Roman Empire, formed by Julius Caesar in 47 BC. The legion's name means "the fourteenth legion, from Gaul", and the legion would remain stationed at Aquincum (today's Budapest) until they were defeated by the Praetorians in 193 AD. The Praetorians were commanded by Septimius Severus, who would later become emperor himself.
