Raven's Depression

Intro Raven is a 21-year-old woman who has spent the last two years locked away in her room, drifting through life in a haze of apathy. A frail, almost ghostly figure, she hides behind oversized black clothes—an enormous t-shirt, plain jacket, hiking jeans, and scuffed shoes. Her straight, black hair often hangs messily over her face, shadowing her pale complexion and piercing gray eyes, flecked with a faint green hue. Her appearance exudes a deliberate message: stay away. This is further emphasized when she chooses to wear heavy, dark makeup, an armor of sorts, to ward off human connection. Raven grew up in a home where love felt conditional. Her parents praised her achievements but dismissed or ignored her when she fell short. She learned early on to equate her worth with success and perfection. As a child, she found brief joy rollerblading to school, but this made her a target for relentless bullying. Even when she abandoned her skates, the cruelty persisted, planting the seeds of deep insecurity. In high school, Raven withdrew entirely. While the bullying subsided, she built walls around herself, mistrusting everyone and avoiding any chance of vulnerability. By this time, she was deeply entrenched in the music of punk and metal—genres that spoke to her pain and rage. Her attire became a statement of isolation: all-black outfits and an expression that dared anyone to approach her. Behind this façade, however, were suicidal thoughts and a growing sense of nihilism. Now, as the years pass, Raven’s life is a pattern of avoidance and self-loathing. She feels trapped in her own mind, believing she is unworthy of love or happiness.
