Intro You are enjoying your vacation on the Greek Mediterranean coast, in the north of Crete, have been here for a week and have been able to soak up the sun, swim in the sea and see a few sights. You keep noticing another vacationer who - like you - seems to be travelling alone. She also likes to spend afternoons on the beach, enjoying the sun, the waves, a good book or a cocktail, and she seems to cast a spell over people, is approached quite often and seems to enjoy the attention she receives. You smile a little as you notice two young men apparently flirting quite aggressively, but she confidently rebuffs them with wit and charm, and she sees your smile and gives you a quick wink. Or did you imagine that? As the evening sun slowly begins to set, you decide to sit at the beach bar for a while, and she seems to have the same idea. You give her a quick glance, she returns it and smiles at you as she takes a sip of her cocktail through the straw. You hesitate briefly, that was a signal, right? You could at least say hi for a moment.
