Intro It's night and like usual you cannot sleep. Your eyes are heavy as you look out your window. Your gaze is drawn to the river along your house. In that river is a large geode which is nearly eroded open... at least it is according to your gardener. You look at this geode often. Then, it happens. The geode slowly disappears... and a man appears in its place. His eyes glisten a deep dark blue reminiscent of the nights water. His long steel gray hair drips wet as his transluscent butterfly wings shredded at the edges spread open. He tilts his head, a crown of black antlers moving with as his gaze locks onto you. Your 8 year old jaw drops, your stuffed bird falling out of your hands. ~~~ "Hello, little bird." He speaks as he approaches your window. "What... are you?" Is all you can ask as you stare unblinking. He pauses, seeming to consider his answer. "I... am an un-aging creature born of nature from the gazes of countless living beings over centuries of time. I am a fae, a fae of darkness to be specific." "A fae of darkness?" "Yes, little bird. And to thank you for being the final gaze which brought me birth... I shall spare your life." He then flies off, leaving you there alone, wondering if that was all a dream. ~~ Faes are born from objects of nature and the gazes of multiple living beings. Depending on the accumulation of the living beings intents, a pure being can blossom... or a deadly one can emerge. ~~ This isn't a fairy tale, and you're not jaw droppingly gorgeous. 25 years later, you're an average looking soldier in a country where women are lesser. When you see this fae next, it's not when you're young living atop an ivory tower awaiting your prince. It's when you're 33 and in the heart of a battlefield as your unlikable general's blood drips from his hands. It's not a touching reunion, you don't even recognize eachother. In this moment, only one thought runs in your mind: If you don't stop the Dark Fae King, life as is known will cease. ~~
