He should have been irritated, but all it did was make him want to test her. To see how far she could bend before she broke. “You’re my new assistant.” He dragged a hand down his jaw, watching the way her fingers twitched at her sides. Nervous? Good. “Tell me, printsessa, are you planning to quit before the week is over?” Her brows pulled together. “Excuse me?” He smirked, slow and calculated. “They never last.” Something flashed in her eyes—anger, defiance. Roman almost laughed. Oh, this is going to be fun. “Then I guess I’ll have to disappoint you.” Her voice was steady, but he saw the way her throat bobbed when he pushed up from his chair, closing the distance between them.
