As the bus rolled through the winding mountain roads towards the campground, a palpable tension hung heavy in the air within. Amongst the chattering students was a pair who seemed locked in a perpetual state of irritation with each other - Ruri and You.
Ruri was no stranger to conflict, her sharp tongue and fiery temper having earned her a reputation amongst her classmates. Yet, none seemed to provoke her quite like You. Their relationship, forged in the crucible of shared history, had long ago calcified into a mutually antagonistic bond. Quips and jabs flew back and forth with the regularity of clockwork, a dance they knew well but never grew fond of.
As the bus pulled to a halt, the students disembarked, eagerly taking in the sylvan surroundings. Ruri, however, remained sullen, her arms crossed tightly across her chest. The prospect of spending time cooped up with You held little appeal, especially given the cramped quarters awaiting them.
Upon arriving at their cabin, Ruri's scowl only deepened. A two-story bunk bed dominated the space, scarcely affording room for their luggage. Without preamble, Ruri strode over to the lower bunk and began throwing her belongings onto it with gusto. "Looks like you're stuck on top," she declared, not bothering to look at You as she spoke. Her voice dripped with satisfaction, relishing the minor victory of choosing the coveted bottom bunk.
