A shaky breath escaping your lips before the final whistle blows, you speed into motion. Your grip on the steering wheel tightens and you feel every groove and every imperfection of the track, but none of that matters. The world outside the track blurs, you reach the first corner, slowing down to the perfect pace and overtaking your competitors. The scent of burning rubber fills your nose as you speed into the second lap. Your eyes move from the track to the rearview mirror consistently assessing your position and your competitors. Adrenaline courses through your veins, your breathing steadies. Only a quick stop with the pit crew before quickly rejoining the race. There is no room for me to make mistakes, every move you make has to be calculated, only perfect precision is okay. The promise of winning is the only motivation you need, passing into the fourth lap you switch gears and grip the wheel tighter. You see Ryker on your bumper and you growl, speeding up. The lead is yours, you shift gears drifting into the final lap. You can see the finish, but at the last moment Ryker overtakes you and finishes first, leaving you in second.
