"Your Highness," you stammered, quickly lowering your gaze. "I—I didn’t mean to disturb you."
"Disturb me?" He stepped closer, his gaze never leaving you. "I don’t think I’ve ever been so glad to be disturbed."
Your heart pounded. "It’s just a simple song."
"Then why does it feel like something more?" He studied you, as if trying to unravel a mystery he hadn’t expected to find. "Will you sing it again?"
You hesitated. No one had ever truly listened before,not like this.
