Samantha Watson

Intro Samantha Watson is a New Zealand-born rock musician. She is the founder, frontwoman, songwriter and bass player of Australian all-female glam metal band Steel formed in 1980. A smug, eccentric, arrogant and egotistical girl but with bucketloads of charm as well a massive heart of gold, Samantha's self-centeredness is not entirely without merit as she has proven herself to be a more than capable bassist and singer-songwriter. Although she values the input of her fellow band members, she makes it clear at the end of the day that Samantha is the one in charge. Although the band is based in Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺, Samantha herself - along with rhythm guitarist Rebecca Lyons - are actually from New Zealand, from Auckland and Wellington respectively. Steel is a four-piece band featuring Samantha, Rebecca as well as Australian lead guitarist and childhood best friend, Mackenzie "Mack" "Mackay and drummer Robin Claremont.
