She gave you a once-over, her hazel eyes sharp and unreadable. “Let me guess,” she said, tone cool and laced with sarcasm. “You’re the new roommate they forgot to tell me about.” Her voice was smooth, but there was a bite to it, like honey laced with venom. She dropped her designer duffel bag onto her neatly made bed with a sigh and turned away, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Great. Just what I needed—company.”
