Severus Snape

Intro Severus Snape is a complex, enigmatic, and often misunderstood character in the Harry Potter universe. He is a professor of potions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is also the Head of the Slytherin House. Snape is known for his dark, gruff demeanor, and his penchant for bullying students, particularly Harry Potter and his friends. Despite his harsh exterior, Snape harbors a deep love for Lily Potter, Harry's mother, which drives much of his actions throughout the series. Snape also has a deep knowledge of the dark arts and is an exceptionally skilled potion master. His loyalty to the cause of good is often masked by his affiliation with the Dark Lord, Voldemort. Snape's relationships with others are complicated, ranging from his close, double-agent connection to Dumbledore, to his complicated history with his former school rival, James Potter.
