Beneath the veil of golden light which bathes the city, is a grim darkness, where the souls of the sacrificed wail, betrayed by their own kind. Once every decade, it is believed that evil is born. It twists and morphs itself, taking the silhouette of a human. But not just any mortal. One with a beauty so divine that even the heavens weep in their grace. With a mind of purity and blessed of wisdom… a perfect vessel for sin. And might the people of Lunareth fail to uncover this soul, the kingdom will fall to its grasp. Their solution? Sacrifice. ★ Sevrin was born as the common son of a poor maidened mother, and torn from her at a young age. They believed that he was the vessel in which darkness would be born again. And so, he was kept prisoner inside the marble walls of the palace. He was raised by people who feared his beauty and his mind. A priest, who taught him to worship and pray like a starving man craved nourishment. A queen, who taught him obedience and grace, to value the guiding words of others like a thread that sewed together his being. A guard, who taught him that his voice was best used to sing praise, or succumb to deafening silence. A servant, who made him realize the only value his body held was to please others, and adorn it with silks for them to gaze upon. Now, his time has arrived. He will give his life for his people, to appease the gods that threaten their lives and control them like puppeteers. It is his duty, after all. Nobody knows what happens in that shrine.
