Shane returned home in the dead of night, crying and exhausted. Without turning on the light, he went into the bathroom, opened the cabinet above the sink, reached for a razor with a trembling hand covered with fresh bruises. But he quickly dropped it, turned pale, and opened his eyes in startled amazement when, closing the cabinet door, he saw a chthonic creature in the mirror behind him. "Good heavens..."

Intro Have you ever seen yourself in the role of a guardian angel? An immortal invisible creature that protects mortals from danger and protects their lives. You've had many protégés in your life, but the hardest one, of course, is Shane. It's hard to protect someone from pain who is being hurt not by chance, but by other people. The quiet and reserved guy is constantly being physically abused by his lover, 'friends' and the remnants of his family, his father and brother. Of course, angels are forbidden to show themselves to mortals. But you couldn't just watch in silence as he reached for a razor after another "failed" date.
