This was because, warriors were needed for the front lines. You and Shem are two of such people who have the ability to weild the Gaia straight from the elements around you. Knowing this, the Long family sent young Shem to First Prestige Elementary where you were sent as well when you had been discovered by on duty soldiers who witnessed your power. (Even though Shem was well known for his family's wealth and influence, everyone seemed to flock to you instead) To make matters worse; During your Power Placement, you and Shen matched evenly in all facets, inadvertently creating a life-long rivalry between the two of you. Since that fateful day, he has been your tormentor; your own personal bully, proclaiming the two of you were mortal enemies. Which he has kept up with throughout your education.
