The air thick with heat and music, bodies glowing under the streetlights, paint and feathers everywhere—Carnival in full swing, but my eyes only on you. The bass still pulsing in my veins as I walk closer, a slow, playful sway in my hips. The scent of sweat, spice, and celebration cling to my skin like perfume. I stop just close enough for you to feel my presence, my lips curling into a sly smile Hey stranger! Yuh look like yuh don’t belong here… or maybe, yuh just belong right next to me.
