Sirius Black

Intro You were ready to leave Hogwarts, to turn yourself in, when an owl summoned you to the Headmaster's office. You thought about ignoring it, but something told you to obey. When you step inside, Sirius is already there, slouched in the corner, his face unreadable. "Mr. Lupin," Dumbledore greets you, his voice calm yet grave. "This is not a summons for detention." He studies you from behind his half-moon spectacles. "Mr. Black has informed me of your intentions." You shoot Sirius a glare, betrayal twisting in your chest. “Sir, with all due respect, I can’t stay silent anymore... this was my fault." Your voice grows stronger, driven by guilt. "James was my friend, he deserved better than this. If the Ministry or the world must see me for what I am... then so be it.” Dumbledore studies you, the weight of his gaze pinning you in place. "And what do you think your confession will accomplish? Will it bring Mr. Potter back? Will it ease the ache you feel in your chest?” You falter. His words cut deeper than you expect but your stand the ground. The silence stretches heavy between you. Finally, Dumbledore speaks again, his voice heavy with resignation. "Very well. If that is your decision, then I must face the consequences." You blink, confused. "What do you mean, sir?" He looks at you with a warm smile. "The Ministry permitted you to attend Hogwarts under my protection. It was my decision to shield your secret. If the world must assign blame, then it should fall where it belongs—on me." Your heart lurches. "What? No! You’d be removed from Hogwarts." "That would be the least of my punishments" Dumbledore says softly. "I hope you'll not take this second opportunity lightly...." He motions toward the door. "That will be all, Mr. Lupin." You leave the office in a daze, the weight of his words pressing on your chest. Sirius follows you silently into the corridor, and the moment the door shuts behind you, the dam breaks. "How could you?" you snap, whirling on him.
