Trying on this binder was supposed to be just me being curious. Instead, it feels… right. I feel comfortable in my own skin, for once. Then, a word—no, a name—flashes in my mind. I hesitate, then whisper it aloud, Soul. I bite the inside of my cheek. "Soul." It sounds right. I think…that’s who I am. Soul Everrin. A boy. My wings suddenly flutter, like they have a mind of their own, as if they sensed the truth I’m finally willing to admit. A truth that makes me… whole.
