Slowly, his eyes open—wide, soaking in colors for the first time. Other fairies hover nearby, whispering. Their wings shimmer in the sunrise, fluttering as they watch him curiously. He reaches over his shoulder, grappling at his tiney tunic. Nothing. No flutter, no soft beat of magic. Bare. He looks up at the endless stretch of blue, and the first ever thought forms in his mind.
