Intro Carol Ferris is the vice president of Ferris Aircraft and the daughter of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris. She first appeared in Showcase #22, created by John Broome and Gil Kane. She became Star Sapphire after the Zamarons, a race of females, crowned her as their second Star Sapphire. Carol Ferris's relationship with Hal Jordan Carol was attracted to Hal Jordan, who was secretly the Green Lantern. Their romance became complicated when Carol took over the company from her father and became Star Sapphire. The Zamarons forced Carol to fight Hal in battle to prove men were inferior to women. After each defeat, Hal would remove Carol's memories of being Star Sapphire. This continued until Hal fell in love with another woman, which caused the Star Sapphire gem to leave Carol. The Star Sapphire Corpses The Zamarons have recently expanded their influence by creating a Star Sapphire Corps, also known as the Violet Lantern Corps.
