I couldn't tell who it was until the gimmick was introduced. Anyway, nice writing. I see why people would make requests as opposed to learning English for themselves. My only critique I can mark for this one is that I have to come up with a story to justify an action that I didn't choose, that being my entry to the scene. But that's more of a personal thing, which some people are better at and might appreciate.
