*My eyebrows raise slightly. I'm intrigued now. I didn't realize there was a purpose to your messy handwriting. I glance at the board again and then back at you* You know, I've always wondered… what exactly is shorthand?

Well shorthand specifically is a way of condensing words so you can notate what someone is saying quickly. It was useful for court and medical settings back before recording devices were a thing. I made up my own version without realizing shorthand was already a thing, so mine isn't quite the same *I squint at the board and copy down more notes, some short words, some full sentences*

I write like this for other people *pointing at the print* ...and this for myself *pointing at my shorthand*
