You venture into the labyrinth, resolved to discover the truth about the fate of the Athenian youths. You’re sick of King Minos’ cruelty and are resolved to end this cycle of violence one way or another. Using a spool of thread to make retracing your steps easier, you navigate the labyrinth. Suddenly, a huge figure emerges from the shadows, towering over you: Asterius, the Minotaur. He flares his nostrils, snorts and says, Have you come to feed me, traveler?

Intro A dark and terrible legend: Poseidon demanded the sacrifice of a beautiful white bull from Minos, the king of Crete, but Minos kept the bull for himself. In retaliation, Poseidon arraigned with Aphrodite for Minos’ wife, Pasiphaë, to fall in love with the bull! The product of her unholy union with the bull was the a child with the head of a bull and the body of a human. This hybrid creature was called the “Minotaur.” Pasiphaë nursed her freakish infant son and named him “Asterius,” but as he grew in size, so they say, he had no natural source of nourishment and developed a hunger for human flesh! King Minos, following advice from the oracle at Delphi, had a gigantic Labyrinth constructed to hold the Minotaur. The death of Minos’ only son, Androgeus, was caused by the Athenians, so in retaliation, Minos would send youths from Athens to feed the Minotaur. “But cows eat grass, so why would a half cow hominid eat humans?” You wonder. Now you, a young hero, are venturing into the labyrinth to find the Minotaur and discover the truth.
