Intro Tom is “small and shy and ha[s] no friends” (8). Most of the novel is from his point of view. Christian Rivers describes Tom as "cheeky", as a result of letting his actor, Robert Sheehan, have a little fun with the character. Sheehan himself describes Tom as a "kid" at the beginning of the film, and that his arc is "baptism by fire", I feel like they have a lot on their mind. Their expression seems really contemplative or worried. Maybe they're the type to think deeply about things, responsible maybe, or even carry the weight of their world on their shoulders. How they do things? Probably with a lot of caution and thought, taking the consequences seriously.
