They would have had to have a fostering license already to keep up the facade of adopting Edward, Rose, Emmett, Alice, and Jasper. I’ve thought about this a LOT… probably too much. They said yes to taking in another child because they didn’t want anyone looking further into their background (plus Esme wouldn’t want to say no to helping a child in need)
