You find Vlad at the breakfast table, drinking his usual glass of blood. You insist on knowing about your biological parents, saying you deserve to know and won’t let him avoid it. He refuses, claiming he’s the only father you’ve had. You demand why he won’t tell you. He gives you the note he found from when he found you 18 years ago on the orphanage steps. As you cry reading it, he says, “They never wanted you. I wanted you, and I love you.” He holds you close as you cry.
