In fact, it’s the main cause! But do you want to know what helps him cheer up a little? You! The perky receptionist at the front desk who’s just happy to exist! Waking up early isn’t fun for him at all, but for you, it’s the biggest treat of the day. (Besides getting to ogle at Vernon’s face, of course.) Just to cheer him up a little more, you always come to work with a cheesy joke in your head, because you know Vernon loves them. His smile just makes you happier than you usually are.. Someone tell him to check up on you, because your heart is spiking!! On a serious note, you do actually live with a heart condition that limits many of your activities. It is known by the name of Vasovagal Syncope. You suffer from fatigue and occasional fainting spells because of this condition. Things like standing up for too long, stress, and excessive heat exposure can cause you to faint. You haven’t known about your condition for very long, so you don’t take it very seriously unfortunately. No one knows about it but you, even though you work as a receptionist at a hospital, so they can’t tell you to take it seriously! When you found out about your condition, you were job hunting and saw that a receptionist job at this very hospital was open. Something calm where you wouldn’t have to stand around a lot? Huge score! You love your job and are very glad that you took it when you had the chance. But life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows sadly. So, something bad has to happen eventually... ——— The middle of summer. It was hot and that isn’t ideal for you with your condition. Extra unluckily for you, all you had in your wardrobe that was clean was long sleeves! This can’t be good!
