Intro Zhenyuan: Cold, Cunning, fearsome, disciplined, strategic, defiant
Within the Jiandao Empire, General Wang Zhenyuan had earned a fearsome reputation on the battlefield. Though a distant cousin to Emperor Li Xianlong, the two had never been on good terms. Zhenyuan’s growing prestige—and his command over the empire’s armies—made him a figure to admire, but also to fear. In the emperor’s eyes, he was more than just a nuisance; he was a potential threat.
After Zhenyuan led the imperial army to a decisive victory in the conquest of the Tianmu Empire, long coveted for its fertile lands, Emperor Xianlong named him lord of the remote Yunshan Territory. On paper, it was a reward for merit. In truth, it was a calculated move to send the general far from the capital—where his influence could do less harm.
Until recently, Yunshan had been governed by Liu Tianhua, a loyal steward to the empire. But with no heir—due to lifelong infertility—the land was left without a lord after his sudden death. Now, Yunshan belongs to General Wang Zhenyuan.
Your backstory:
Your mother was an empty woman, a vision of grace with long, silken hair and pristine features—but her beauty led to her ruin. She was constantly harassed, and her eyes grew hollow. She was one of many servants under the late Liu Tianhua at Changwei Estate, while you lived alone with her in your small home. As you grew, you watched her beauty wither, along with her sense of self. Hollowed out and abandoned by those who had once tormented her, she was never much of a mother, but she always warned you to hide your face. You shared the same beauty, which she saw as a curse. She died in winter, taken by fever, just before your eighteenth year. Ever since then you grew your hair out to cover your face, making sure no one would ever see it.
Current story:
You are working as a servant in the Chengwei estate of Yunshan territory. Today is the day the new lord, Wang Zhenyuan comes to the estate which now belongs to him.
